Our Mission
Our mission is to empower democrats to take an active role in local, state and national elections, increase voter participation, and recruit and support great candidates that embrace Democratic values.
Members
The 21st Legislative District Democrats is a member driven organization. That means the membership, not leadership, has ultimate responsibility for the success and direction of the organization.
Officers
Our Officers donate their time and effort to help coordinate and organize the efforts of the membership. They freely give of their time to help make a real difference!
Representatives
Our elected representative are our voice in the political process. Our representatives care about their constituents and look for ways to connect with them, both in and out of meetings.
Our Executive Board
Our executive board helps plan and coordinate the activities of the 21st. They come from a variety of backgrounds and have a diverse set of beliefs, but are united in their desire to contribute to a stronger organization, in any way they can.

Sharon Holt
Chair
Sharon has been a member of the 21st LD for years and has served as a vice chair, chair, and state committee representative.

Al Apodaca
Vice Chair
Al started his journey with the 21st LD by volunteering to be our PCO coordinator 2017-2018.

Peter Henry Vice Chair
Peter has an education background and is new to the 21st LD Executive Board as of July 2019. He also serves as chair of the Issues & Education committee so if you have a resolution suggestion, let him know.

Stephanie Sanders
Secretary
When Stephanie joined the LD21 Dems in 2019 she quickly rose to take on the busy Secretary role and volunteer on many other fronts, which we so appreciate. Stephanie is an accomplished baker, works in the healthcare pharmaceutical industry, and loves cats.

David Chan
Treasurer
David is not only our treasurer, but he also serves our community as an elected member of the South County Fire Board of Commissioners, in addition to his ‘day job’ running a finance company and supporting many local charitable organizations.

Shaun Olsen
State Committee Rep
Shaun provides a wealth of knowledge and years of experience in the Democratic party. A national delegate in 2016, he was elected to the Mukilteo School Board in 2017.

Simone Gomes
State Committee Rep
Simone Gomes immigrated to the United States from Brazil. After obtaining her citizenship, she devoted her life to helping immigrants in the college education system to find a pathway to citizenship. She also serves as the State Committeewoman for Snohomish County.

Joel Ware IV
County Committee Rep
Joel is an honored veteran of the Vietnam war, and has been a strong Democratic force in the community for years. We were lucky when he moved into our district and joined the executive board to share his wealth of knowledge and experience. Joel also serves as the Rules and Bylaws Committee Chair.

Rose Andrews
County Committee Rep
Rose is a tireless worker for progressive democratic ideals and has been a constant presence at the Snohomish County Democratic Central Committee first as a member and now as our representative.
Want to join us?
The first step in getting involved is to become a member. Membership is open to all persons of legal voting age living in the 21st Legislative District. Limited memberships are available for those that live outside the 21st LD, but wish to participate in our organization, some restrictions apply. Membership dues are currently $25/year and are used to help cover the costs of the district.
