November 2018 General Business Meeting Minutes

This month’s business meeting was unusually short, owing to the fact that this meeting was intended to be more pizza party than business meeting.
Adoption of Agenda
There was a motion to add a fifteen second introduction from every meeting attendee to the agenda, to introduce new members. The motion was seconded. The motion passed by voice vote.
The agenda as amended was adopted.
Adoption of Minutes
The minutes from the last meeting (October 2018) were, and are, available online. They were accepted without objection.
Officer’s Reports
Only two Officers gave reports at this month’s meeting.
County Committeeman Niko Battle rose to ask members to please attend the Snohomish County Democrats Reorg meeting on Sunday, December 9th.
State Committeeman Shaun Olsen rose to inform the members that a vote had been taken at the Washington State Democratic Central Committee, and that the roles previously referred to as “Committeewoman” and “Committeeman” would now officially be called Committeeperson.
New Business
Mr. Louis Harris, the Chair of the Snohomish County Young Democrats, addressed the members, asking for their support of his organization. He recommended to the 21st LD Democrats that we elect, as an Officer of the Executive Board, a liaison with youth Democratic Party organizations.
A motion was made to recommend to the Bylaws Committee that the 21st LD Democrats should create an office of the Executive Board, with full voting privileges, to be the designated liaison with the Snohomish County Young Democrats. The motion was seconded. The motion was passed without objection.
There was a brief discussion of what to expect at the upcoming 21st LD Democrats reorg meeting on December 5.
